The Holland
Lops are a new breed for me.
I have a nice
old blue mini-lop named Blue that is one of our true
pets. He is my first rabbit to earn a leg. The unique
thing about him is that he was one of those "FREE"
bunnies!! I got him at a show in Jefferson, WI., 3 years
ago. He is such a sweetie! Loves to have his head and
face rubbed. I've taken him to the fair even when I knew
he was over-weight because he was one of those rabbits
everyone could pet. No biting with him! Little kids
loved touching him. Now I only show him there because
he is "retired" - put on more weight than I can get off
safely. We put him on a harness and let him go for a
walk - stopped my neighbors in their tracks when they saw
that!
For my son's
7th birthday this year, I decided to let him try his own
breed to raise and show since I did the mini rex. We went
with a nice small breed with a good personality - Holland
Lops.
We are working
with mostly torts right now. We know what areas we
are looking to strengthen on our bunnies and we are
eager to get started!!
